Karen refugees face bleak future

Myanmar's military junta steps up offensive to 'clear' resource-rich eastern region. Rights groups say that thousands of refugees, especially ethnic Karen, are being forcibly driven from their homes in the resource-rich east where Myanmar's military junta is building four-hydro power dams. Thailand - which will be one of the main beneficiaries of cheap hydro-electric power - has closed its doors to new refugees.
