Walking away from world trade talks

An effort to rescue world trade talks has collapsed with Brazil and India accusing the United States and the European Union of demanding too high a price for cutting trade-distorting farm policies. The U.S. and EU had demanded that developing countries make "a 58-percent cut" in manufacturing tariffs in exchange for rich countries cutting farm subsidies and tariffs.
