The Jones Group (JNY), which makes Nine West shoes and Jones New York apparel, were lower on Wednesday on news that third-quarter profit dropped by 4.3%, due to higher air freight and cost increases. Net income for the third quarter fell to $29.1 million, or 34 cents a share, versus $30.4 million, or 36 cents in the same period last year.
