a federal jury found a former a-p-d officer accused of interfering with a federal investigation -- guilty. abby roedel joins us live in the newsroom with the officer's reaction. brad ahrensfield says he was surprised by the unanimous verdict and that he did not expect the case to turn out this way. the former apd officer left the court room surrounded by family and friends. it took the jury seven hours to deliberate on the obstruction charges. ahrensfield was accussed of tipping off a local car dealer about an f-b-i investigation into an employee. this was ahrensfield's second trial this year. in april, a different jury found him not guilty of one count of lying to the fbi -- and deadlocked on the obstruction charge. ahrensfield's attorney says they plan to appeal. ahrensfield says it's a sad time for his family. "there's a lot more to this trial than was seen in the courtroom. it goes a lot deeper. maybe it will really come out down the road, but that's really it for now." ahrensfield's attorney says they do have a motion that the judge will hear, explaining that the government turned over evidence late in the trial the he did not feel was proper. sentencing is scheduled to happen in about 90 days
