a rave is busted in downtown albuquerque with almost a thousand people...most of them teens...is broken up by police and other agencies. eddie garcia is live downtown near the vacant building where it all took place. eddie. the city says this building doesn't have close to the capacity needed to hold the more than 7-hundred people who were here last night -- not to mention no fire permit or business license. a father reportedly tipped off police when he found a flyer for the rave in his daughter's belongings. when investigators arrived to the building on central and sixth they found a line of people in the alley waiting to get in through the back door. inside the fire marshall's office found several violations including only... one exit for the entire venue. the rave was immediately stopped and everyone was ordered out of the building... one 17 year old girl was so heavily intoxicated she was taken home to her parents by police. was a disaster waiting to happen. you look at these and you think they're just fire codes but fire codes exist for a reason - they exist to keep people safe. there was apparently a 35 dollar cover to get in. the safe city strike force, the albuquerque fire marshal's office and the a-p-d party patrol all worked together in this bust. we're beg told the organizer of the rave and his company will be facing several criminal charges. live on central and 6th, eddie garcia kob eyewitness news 4.
