onight investigators are still looking for two men who ambushed and then shot a valencia county deputy last night-- using his own gun. we've been following the story closely since it broke last night. today kayla anderson talked with one of the deputy's friends. she's live in the newsroom with more. anyone who knows valencia county deputy joe martinez can say he's a loving, fun man-- who's very dedicated to his job. minute thumbnail 06:01 pm the deputy says he pulled over last night along the manzano expressway... to inspect a vehicle that looked abandoned. that's when two suspects rushed him from the shadows... tackled him and took his gun... shooting three times.. hitting him once in the shoulder. he was released from the hospital this morning. "he's in good spirits. he has a whole different outlook now on life. but he's ready to come back to work and hopefully these criminals get caught." deputy martinez described the two suspects as possibly mexican nationals... one young, and one old. that's the key piece of information investigators are considering-- when comparing a scene from a possible murder suicide that happened this morning in the north valley. one of the victims was in his 20's and the second was in his 50's. but it's still unknown if the two scenes are in fact linked. reporting live in the newsroom, kayla anderson, kob eyewitness news 4. this afternoon,
