Santa Fe High employee accused of soliciting sex from minor

An athletic trainer for Santa Fe High School has been arrested after police say he used Facebook to solicit sex from a 15-year-old student. Santa Fe police arrested David Romero, 27, on Wednesday and charged him with third degree felony child solicitation after setting up an undercover sting operation. Investigators say detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit (CACU) were made aware of Romero's attempted solicitation of a 15-year-old student while using the Facebook account "Sfhigh Athletictraining" The account says the page "is made specifically to update the student athlete's, parents and coaches of the happenings in the SFHS Athletic Training Room." But Detective Louis Carlos says that's not all the page was being used for. "He exploited it and he used it for his own benefit he wanted to satisfy himself sexually," said Carlos A close look at some of the public comments revealed several postings about high school sports, reminders for student athletes to get physicals and even a comment calling a student, "gay."
