Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson has some advice for Susana Martinez as the newly sworn-in governor prepares for her first legislative session. Johnson served 8 years as a conservative Republican governor, wrestling with a legislature dominated by Democrats, so her certainly is familiar with the territory where Martinez is marching. " Do make it A through Z," Johnson told Martinez via an interview with Stuart Dyson of KOB Eyewitness News. "Stick to your guns. The governor has a lot of influence when it comes to the budget." "I'm going to stick to my guns," Martinez responded in an interview with Dyson later in the day. "I always do. I don't compromise when it's extremely important." Johnson is especially interested in Martinez's plan to reduce the film industry subsidy from 25 cents to 15 cents for every dollar spent making movies in the state. Johnson says Martinez should make an ironclad case. " When she comes down with a decision on that - whether it be to retain or shrink or whatever it is - I would just hope that we would have all the information available, that arguably we would all come to the same decision."
