more than 24 hours ago because of a line break---is still leaking tonight in a southeast albuquerque neighborhood. and there is no end in sight. kob eyewitness news broke the story yesterday afternoon when neighbors first reported the break. now we're being told by the water authority - water is going to be allowed to flow at least through the beginning of the week. it's our big story tonight. here is a live look at the breach at madeira and anderson which is near near san mateo and gibson. crews are out there working but you can still see there's a big ddle of water where the water's been flowing. crews have set up a make-shift trench routing the water to a storm drain just down the street. our camera was rolling yesterday afternoon around 3 o'clock right after the break was reported ... s we returned around 6 o'clock and crews on the minute thumbnail 04:31 pm scene told us the water authority was allowing the leak to continue to avoid shutting off water to area residents., a spokesman talked to us today about the plan. "what were looking at doing is replacing that entire section of line because its become very problematic for us but in order to get all the resources together accomplish that we need a little bit more time in the interim i doesn't make sense just to do a patch so were ending up in this situation where were letting the water run." residents living in the area tell us there have been at least two other water line breaks here in the past few months. the water authority tells kob eyewitness news four that sometime this week crews will have to dig up a majority of this line to replace it. until then the water will continue to flow. we also asked david morris about another water line break yesterday morning near indian school and moon. he tells us he wasn't aware of minute thumbnail 04:32 pm that break.
