APS' Brooks requests contract extension

KOB Eyewitness News 4 has learned APS Superintendent Winston Brooks wants to extend his contract ahead of the upcoming school board election. Brooks is getting his yearly evaluation this week and is asking for his contract to be extended by a year. That would keep him on as the chief of Albuquerque Public Schools through June 2014. Some candidates in next week's board election aren't happy with the attempt to extend his contract before the election. Brooks says the current board knows him well and should make the decision.
