night-- police began closing i-25 between t or c and socorro when things got slick. then this morning-- the closure was pushed all the way north to belen. i-25 is open again right now-- but that may not last long as temperatures drop to zero and below. stuart dyson is live in belen- where he talked to drivers hoping to make it south-- only to get stuck in traffic. this morning-- i-25 was full of optimists. people heading out knowing the highway was closed down at socorro-- but hoping it would be open by the time they got there. it was pessemists one-- optimists nothing when police moved the shut-down point another forty miles north to belen this morning. believe me-- i know how it feels i got stuck here, minute thumbnail 06:32 pm too, but at least it gave us plenty of time to shoot pictures and talk to drivers while the temperature hovered at a balmy three degrees fahrenheit.
