in taos- stores have run out of space heaters and thousands of people are gearing up to spend another night in the cold. gadi schwartz just got back from taos- he joins us now live from santa fe with what is going on. the natural gas pipeline into taos - questa and red river still doesn't have enough pressure to push gas up to costumers- about an hour ago we spotted crews in the canyon near pilar checking the pipeline- which is still reading 0... up in taos- many people spent the day milling around outside - some saying it felt warmer out in the sun than indoors. throughout town many buisnesses were closed- but at places like "grahams grille" -- employees came in during the day to do some maintencence work -- and spent time getting ready to give out free soup this evening. its really thrown us for a loop and i'm sure every business feels the same especially restaurants because there are people here in lodging and there are not a lot of places to eat right now because everybody goes on gas. tonight space heaters are a precious comodity in taos- and many will close off rooms in their homes or sleep by fireplaces and wood burning stoves. natural gas should be fully restored by monday in taos. the american red cross has set up a shelter at the taos regional command center on gusdorf road.
