ome albuquerque city workers thought they were tossing out a big piece of vandalized junk. it turns out it was an expensive piece of city- commissioned art ... designed by a group of students who are part of a non-profit group. jeff maher shows us what that non-profit has to say about the mistak. the statue was described as a minute thumbnail 10:07 pm combination of a cactus, and mickey mouse. a 50-thousand dollar state- funded work of art, put together by at-risk high school students, and an artist from mexico. the city, first reported it to be stol. people familiar with the cactus, were shocked. "well mostly i always wondered why somebody would want to steal it because i thought it was sort of ugly! ha ha ha!! turns out, it wasn't stolen. vandals pushed over the cactus a week ago. someone then called the city to clean it up.
