Missing cactus discovered in landfill

eyewitness news four knows what happened to this 50-thousand dollar cactus minute thumbnail 04:59 pm sculpture, that disappeared from a northeast heights park. it turns out it wasn't stolen. city crews actually took it to the landfill. jeff maher broke the original story about the missing statue.. he's live at the landfill near i-40 and paseo del volcan to tell us what happened. the cactus sculpture was compacted and buried here, never to be seen again. after our story aired last night, a couple of city parks and recreation workers realized they had made a big mistake. this is what the cactus art piece looked like when city workers came across it a couple days ago at tramway-linear park near tramway and lomas.
