union demonstrators hit the roundhouse this morning to show their support for the labor struggle in wisconsin. eddie garcia joins us now with their message. eddie? people at the rally say it's about shining a spotlight onto what they call the real cause for budget shortfalls across the country - unregulated corporate greed. labor is the answer! i'm here to support wisconsin and the unions from all over. one worker is hurt in this country - all of us are hurt. new mexico public union workers, regular workers... and people from all walks of life... big and small... standing up against what they call an all-out attack on the working and middle class. after 30 years of giving tax breaks to the rich, after 30 years of accumulating billions at the top, people are finally realizing they've been sold a bill-of-goods. they say blaming public workers for the nation's financial woes is a transparent tactic used and paid for by special interests. i'm sick and tired of big business, the koch brothers for instance, interfering in politics in the u.s. and saying what the unions can and can't do. we're going through pay cuts and budgets being balanced on our back like it was our fault and that is not the case. they say what "is the case" - is defending the american dream against those who would try to highjack it, distort it's meaning and make it favor only the richest americans. enough is enough! there were no reports of violence or unruly behavior at today's demonstration. participants tell us they hope rallies like these only become bigger throughout new mexico and the nation.
