southeast new mexico say the wind is fueling two new wildfires tonight. the delta fire is burning in eddy county between artesia and carlsbad. so far about 1- thousand acres have burned. crews are worried the fire could threaten some structures, a power line to artesia and oil and gas infrastructure. another fire burning in roosevelt county has burned more than 3-thousand acres. right now one structure is threatened but officials are hoping a wheat field nearby will slow the fire down. late this afternoon we did get word that 8 oil and gas wells in the area have been damaged from the fires... but officials don't expect that to interrupt service to anyone.// we are also still keeping tabs on the dog canyon fire burning in the guadalupe canyon about 50 miles southwest of carlsbad tonight. the fire is still 35-percent contained but minute thumbnail 05:02 pm crews are expecting to get a better handle on the fire throughout the day.// we sent a team out on the road today to see how tough the winds have been. the strong gusts were definitely not easy to drive in.
