APD officer struck while responding to hit and run

A hit and run caused a responding officer to be struck by a passing vehicle on Tuesday evening. Albuquerque police responded to the accident in the vicinity of Louisiana and Central Ave. around 8:30 p.m. When the officer arrived, he found the victim with a large laceration on his head. Police were on the lookout for a vehicle matching the victim's description, a white SUV. Minutes later, they found it at the nearby fairgrounds. As the officer was approaching the vehicle, two other vehicles collided with him in an unrelated incident.
