Albuquerque police have removed a live bomb found inside a car repossessed two days before. The device was found by two repo men who had towed the vehicle from a Northeast Albuquerque home Monday evening and taken it to the Federated Fleet & Automotive Service location near Utah Street and Central Avenue. During the Wednesday morning inventory on the car the men found the device inside the vehicle's glove box. The men immediately called police and ordered the evacuation of the building. Albuquerque Police Bomb Squad officials say the bomb had shrapnel taped to it and a four inch long wick attached as part of a detonating device. Due to the nature of the device officials with the bomb squad say the person responsible could face federal charges. Authorities are working toward locating the owner of the vehicle. The bomb has been taken by bomb squad officials who will evaluate the device and determine how to safely disarm it.
