Senate considers illegal immigrant license bill

hour ago--- the senate rejected a republican-backed proposal to stop new mexico from issuing driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. but the debate is far from over-- -and lawmakers are still trying to hammer out a bill right now. jeremy jojola has been watching lawmakers and is live in santa fe with what has been happening. the senate is minute thumbnail 10:00 pm still debating as we speak...but to fill you in on what happened....before tonight.... first the house passed a bill that would have prevented driver's licensees for illegal immigrants... and then last night a senate committee watered it down to a version that would still allow illegals to get driver's licenses, but would require more documentation...an d a two year renewal for immigrants.
