Veteran APD officer loses battle with cancer

onight albuquerque police officers are remembering one of their own --- who lost his battle with cancer over the weekend. lieutenant todd armendariz died saturday. he had been with the police department for 21 years. we spoke to one commander today who told us armendariz was a great man and a strong leader. "i was amazed at his resilience and his strength. he'd have his chemotherapy treatments and right before 10 o'clock he'd minute thumbnail 05:11 pm come walking in getting ready to run his watch and take care of his business but that was todd." funeral services for lieutenant armendariz will take place tomorrow morning at hoffmantown church on ventana and academy.
