on the fire watch tonight-- the roswell fire chief says a few firefighters were hurt fighting a fire southwest of the city this afternoon. the orchard fire broke out just minute thumbnail 06:35 pm before 4 between roswell and dexter. the chief says between 250 and 500 acres burned. flames burned right up to homes-- but firefighters were able to keep the homes from burning. "when i got here the fire was probably half a mile away and in less than 5 minutes, it was on us." investigators think someone intentionally set the fire. right now chaves county deputies are questioning some people who may have been involved. we're told another fire was set in the same area yesterday. we'll be following up and we'll let you know if anyone is arrested. and at least two thousand acres burned earlier this afternoon about 15 miles west of artesia.
