developers of the mesa del sol project tell kob, they're breaking ground a week from monday... and aren't concerned about the current housing market trends. heather mills joins us with what she found out today. already a very active community .. mesa del sol is still missing one key compenent to it's live work play design.. housing. after a near three year wait.. this is what mesa del sol looks like. construction trucks have finally made an appearance at the property.. after developers put a hold on the housing phase. "we would have obviously rather started in 2007/2008, but the economy and the market is going to dictate those types of events." chris anderson.. the vice president of commerical development says he's not concerned about the climate now because the first phase of the project wont even go on sale until next year. "the master plan hasn't changed though our financial plan has changed. we were going to build more homes in our first phase, but given the state of the market, we're coming out being a little more cautious." though the company remains tight lipped about the specifics of the design.. including the four project builders who will be working on the housing phase.. they do say they are finally ready. "we were probably rushing on it before, and now we're going to take the type to do it right." anderson told me the first phase of building will be about 250 homes. the entire project will take decades
