Proposed Rio Rancho pet ordinance impacts most owners
March 24, 2011
Wednesday evening Rio Rancho city councilors are scheduled to vote on some big changes that will impact pet owners. The city council could vote on a set of recommended changes to the animal code ordinance. Rio Rancho dog owner Morgan Fuller expects a mandatory micro-chipping and spay and neuter ordinance could bite some pet owners in the pocket. "Times right now, living is pretty hard. It's kind of like a recession so depending on the stability of people and their income," said Fuller. City councilor Michael Williams is confident all of the recommended changes to the animal code will pass, including mandatory micro-chipping.
