vacant and attracting crime for three years -- but soon action could finally be taken on the unfinished anasazi condo project in downtown albuquerque. just a couple of hours ago the mayor announced he landed a meeting with the f-d-i-c, which holds the note and mortgate on the building. jeff maher is live near 6th and central with our big story. jeff. this is a copy of the letter mayor richard berry sent to the f-d-i-c chairperson last week -- which says if the f-d-i-c does not do something with this eyesore -- the city would likely have to condemn it and possibly tear it down. that got the f-d-i-c's attention. the f-d-i-c contacted mayor berry the same day he sent the letter. they agreed to meet with him and city officials on minute thumbnail 05:01 pm april 11th to exchange information and updates about the problem property. and on april 12th, local developers, who have expressed interest in finishing the project, will also meet with the f-d- i-c to see if a deal can be worked out. the initial developer ran out of money and was indicted for fraud. since then, vandalism, break- ins, and drug-use have plagued the building.
