Wind expected to provoke Ruidoso firefighting efforts

Another windy day is expected to aggravate firefighting efforts as Ruidoso's White Fire rages for its third day Wednesday. So far the fire has burned xx,xxx acres, and is xx-percent contained. Sustained winds of 20 m.p.h. with gusts up to 45 m.p.h. are expected in south central New Mexico on Wednesday. Four hundred firefighters are working 24 hours a day in shifts to clear fire fuels and extinguish hot spots Five homes and several barns were destroyed on Sunday. Officials say horses and various wildlife were found deceased. The governor is expected to tour the area Wednesday.
