News of another earthquake in Japan initially sent the markets lower, although stocks managed to recover some of their losses over the course of the day,but not enough to finish in positive territory. In economic news, the Labor Department reported that initial jobless claims fell 10,000 last week, to 382,000, from an upwardly revised 392,000.
