UNM regents approve 5.5% tuition hike

students- as u-n-m regents tackle a tuition hike. we break down the issue- and the new decision. tuition is going up at u-n-m. that decision came down late this morning. but the hike isn't going to be as bad as many students had feared. sharon erickson live at u-n-m to explain it all- in our big story. sharon? antoinette... about an hour ago... the board of regents said "no" to a student fee hike and yes to higher tuition. after passing the consent agenda in front of a packed house... the board of regents quickly moved to the hotly contested "tuition increase minute thumbnail 12:00 pm proposal." up for debate... a 40-dollar student fee hike that would be used for computers, libraries, athletics and the johnson center.
