Active scene follows NW ABQ officer-involved shooting

ollow breaking news: the swat team and the bomb squad are in northwest albuquerque -- in a neighborhood were police shot and killed a man. eddie garcia is live near golf course and paseo with the new details. eddie. sources tell us that christopher torres is the man shot and killed by police this afternoon - we're told he was in his late 20s. this situation seems more active than before. here you can see the bomb squad has set up on the scene - police are giving no explanation as to why. originally we were closer but after a briefing police pushed everyone back at least a block. moments later minute thumbnail 06:00 pm we saw snipers and special units setting up throughout the entire neighborhood going into people's yards and setting up in strategic positions. then the bomb squad moved in and what appeared to be a second mobile substation with swat. police say this all started at around 2 this afternoon when they were serving a search warrant. they say there was a confrontation with the suspect - then police opened fire killing that suspect. police have this entire neighborhood on lockdown right now - and people who live here are telling me they can't return to their homes. we'll bring you any new details as soon as we get them. live in northwest albuquerque, eddie garcia kob eyewitness news 4.
