on day four of the scott owens trial jurors saw first hand- some of the twisted wreckage from the crash that killed 4 santa fe teens. gadi schwartz is live in santa fe with more on today's testimony... gadi? right before hearing from the lead investigator on the case- jurors walked outside and saw the crash aftermath first hand. both the jeep scott owens was driving- and the car that was carrying the 4 teenagers who died were - brought out to display to the jury. throughout the morning the jury heard testimony from the lead investigator on the case who admitted to the defense that debris was never measured on scene and swept up by a tow truck driver. since the beginning of the trial the defense has alluded to the possibility that another teen driver caused the crash by clipping the car in front of her before the crash... but this afternoon - the defense for scott owens suffered a blow after an fbi paint transfer expert - testified that she didn't think a red smudge mark on another teens white car was paint. "based on my microscopic examination i i did not determine that this material did not appear to be paint and not automotive paint. certainly." tomorrow- the jury is expected to hear from two different accident reconstruction experts- one hired by prosecutors another hired by the defense. both of those will likely present two very different versions of what could have happened. we'll be there and let you know what happens. live in santa fe gadi schwartz, kob eyewitness news 4
