APS sees spike in absences on Good Friday

today was a makeup day for one of february's snow days. so we decided to check to see how many students and teachers actually went to class today. here's what we found out. on any given day-- aps says 92 percent of its students are in class ... but today more than 11- thousand more students absent --- which means only 79 percent of students were in class. and this afternoon--- we found some of them at the zoo. the zoo was packed the aquarium with kids, yea, a lot of parents decided to take their kids out and celebrate good friday we also checked on teacher absentees ... today there were 865 teachers absent--- about 70 more than last friday.
