Bloomfield may ban foreign licenses

One Four Corners city wants to stop its MVD from printing state issued driver's licenses and ID cards for foreign nationals. Officials with the City of Bloomfield say it takes three times as long for the MVD to process a foreign national ID card because of all the paperwork. The city says the long wait time is the number one complaint from residents. Since Bloomfield's MVD is owned by the city, councilors can vote on the proposal. Currently Artesia is the only city in the state that has passed a similar resolution.
