PM praises Britain's plot response

Britain's prime minister praised the handling of the suspected al-Qaeda plot to detonate car bombs in London and Scotland. Gordon Brown praised his new interior minister Jacqui Smith, speaking of "the difficult security issues that she's dealt with brilliantly over the past few days." Six of the eight people in custody are thought to be medics.
