a new mexico father hopes get his two daughters home. police say the girl's mother took them in february-- ignoring a court order to turn them over to their father. kayla anderson is live in the newsroom with the story. tom lucero's daughter, mary turned two last weekend. but instead of celebrating with her-- he spent the entire weekend searching for mary and her six-month-old sister grace. "the cradle rock..." this is two- year-old mary. and this is 6-month-old grace. baby coos' these may be the last images their father will have of them. "to be truthful with you, i don't watch a lot of these, i don't look at them, it's hard to see pictures." 29-year-old rebecca montoya is charged with two counts of custodial interference... after she didn't hand the girls over to their father back in february. he'd been granted full custody of the children. now the san miguel county sheriff's department is left following leads on their whereabouts. "her email, facebook, her bank account, she gets wic, her ebt that type of thing." lucero is a state police officer. he was put on paid leave last year-- after las vegas police said he forced montoya to the ground while she was pregnant and tried to arrest her. but lucero says that's not what happened... and calls it another lie by montoya... which has left him facing several restraining orders, and claims with cyfd-- all of which were unsubstantiated and dropped. "she had just been causing a lot of different problems. anything that she could do to keep me away from my children." we've learned montoya also has another outstanding warrant for her arrest. while he waits for some clue... lucero has a message for his girls. "dadda loves you so much and i can't wait to see you again." police can't issue an amber alert for the girl's-- because it was their own mother who took them. police believe rebecca montoya is still in new mexico. if you've seen her or the girls-- call police right away.
