a dog is accused of attacking a horse in valencia county while a woman was riding it. the pit bull brought the thousand pound horse to its knees and nearly killed it. joe vigil is here with pictures of the animal's injuries and the message the owner has for dog owners. the owners of the horse say the dog that attacked was one very powerful dog. and say it had one thing on its mind---to kill. patty pino was enjoying a very pleasant ride on gator sunday behind the luna mansion. she says a pit bull approached along the ditch but it wasn't aggressive until pino was just about home. "it just went spastic." pino says the dog lunged at gator---sinking its teeth into the horse. "i mean i put my foot right in the dog's face and knocked him down. and the dog was probably jumping about six feet in the air at his mouth." fortunately gator didn't buck and throw pino. she raced the horse through the gate but the dog followed. that when patty's husband rudy picked up these antlers. "i swatted at it. i hit the dog and didn't phase the dog." then the dog did something that stunned the couple. "i knew there was only one way to stop this dog. patty got off the horse. i ran inside got a weapon and terminated the dog." "it's unreal. i mean we've heard all of this happening the la few weeks about these pit bulls attacking people and you just think that's bad for them but you don't think that's going to happen to you." rudy pino thinks gator saved pattt's life. with some treatment the horse should be okay. rudy pino says he wanted the story told for a reason. "the bottom line is the owners need to take control of their animals and to secure them. especially if they're dangerous. this was a very dangerous dog." "this dog seemed to be trained to do what it was doing." we haven't confirmed at this point that the dog was a pit bull. we're waiting to hear back from animal control. the pino's don't know exactly where the dog came from... but say it was wearing a tag. an officer removed the dead dog from their property. investigators released the b- a-c of a woman accused of
