The American private sector added 179,000 jobs in April according to a report by Automatic Data Processing Inc. and consultancy Macroeconomic Advisers.It was the lowest reported monthly jobs increase since last November, and lower than the 198,000 economists had expected.The report revised the numbers for March up slightly, to 207,000 from the original report of 201,000.The ADP report said, "Employment growth at this pace is consistent with only modest declines in the unemployment rate."The ADP report included only private sector jobs, while the non-farm payroll report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, due out Friday, includes government workers.Service sector jobs increased by 138,000 in April, while the manufacturing sector added 25,000 workers in the month.
