Fifth grade teacher faces judge in 'sexting' scandal

just a few hours ago, an a- p-s fifth grade teacher accused of sexting an 11-year-old girl minute thumbnail 05:00 pm went before a judge. and after that court hearing, the teacher's sister talked only to kob eyewitness news 4 about the disturbing charges. cristina rodda is here with tonight's big story. this afternoon jacob lawler pleaded not guilty to child solicitation by electronic communication and criminal sexual communication with a child. this is 32 year old lawler in court this afternoon. a criminal complaint shows lawler asked to see the former students' genitals and offered minute thumbnail 05:01 pm to show his. in one text he said he would send a photo of him and his wife in sexual contact and suggested he and the girl could possibly take a picture doing the same. the girl's father discovered the texts when his daughter was acting suspicious about the messages. marissa lawlers says her brother raised her and her siblings-- and this whole thing is just a horrible nightmare. s adult roles marissa lawler 14:01:46-- 14:01:54 "i look up to him, i still look up to him, i am so torn apart and i don't want to believe and i love my brother with all my heart." the judge kept lawler's bond at 50-thousand dollars cash only. the district attorney says if lawler is convicted he faces at least three years in prison. but -- he will not have to register as a sex offender. a-p-s is scheduled to have a disciplinary hearing tomorrow for lawler. for now he is suspended. back to you police say the texts between the teacher and the student lasted two years. coming up at six -- a story parents need to see -- we show minute thumbnail 05:02 pm you how you can monitor what kind of text messages your child is sending and receiving
