VimpelCom Ltd (NYSE:VIP) reported Q1 EPS of $0.46 today, beating the consensus estimate for $0.33 per share. On a pro forma basis, including the results of Wind Telecom S.p.A., which was acquired on April 15, 2011, the company had revenue of $5.5 billion. Excluding the acquisition, revenue was up 23% year-over-year to $2.7 billion, in-line with the consensus estimate.Alexander Izosimov, Chief Executive Officer of VimpelCom, said, "With the consolidation of the assets of Wind Telecom into our portfolio, the scale of our operations has nearly doubled, making VimpelCom a truly global telecom operator with one of the largest customer bases in the world. I truly believe that we have strong prospects for profitable growth going forward.
