Fijian TV news pictures showed an unconscious Peter Foster, wearing only a pair of swimming trunks, being bundled into the back of a police pick-up truck and driven to hospital. The convicted Australian fraudster sustained head injuries after apparently jumping off a bridge to avoid arrest. The 44-year-old shot to notoriety in 2002 following revelations that he brokered a property deal for the British prime minster's wife, Cherie Blair in a scandal dubbed "Cheriegate".
