two teens are charged with murder tonight --- after police say they killed their foster mother and stole her mini-van. joe bartels has been on top of this story since it broke yesterday. he joins us live in roswell with the new developments ... joe? investigators officially charged the two teenaged foster girls-- each just 15 years old-- with open counts of murder. investigators say 53 year old evelyn miranda took the girls in after one of them was released from jail. the lincoln county undersheriff says he is still waiting on an official cause of death but says it appears miranda was smothered to death. "she had taken them into her house to give them, to help them out, and it's just a bad deal." police tracked down the girls through a tip in carlsbad. detectives have spoken with the girls but haven't said if they know why the girls killed their foster mother. i called the district attorney's office today several times to see if the girls will be tried as adults-- but so far they have not called me back. in roswell joe bartels kob eyewitness news four.
