Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) announced today that for the four weeks ended June 25, 2011, its same store sales increased 1.8% from the prior year period.Front-end same store sales grew 1.5%, while pharmacy same store sales increased 1.9%. Prescription count was up 0.4% year-over-year.Total drugstore sales were up 1.0% to $1.928 billion in the month. Prescription revenue accounted for 67.6 percent of total drugstore sales, while third party prescription revenue represented 96.5 percent of pharmacy sales.Same store sales for the 17-week year-to-date period are up 1.0%, consisting of a 0.4 percent front-end same store sales increase and a 1.3 percent increase in pharmacy sales.
