a woman who took off with her two children instead of handing them over to their father-- as a court ordered-- is now behind bars. today her parents are pleading for help-- for their daughter and for their two grandaughters. cristina rodda spoke with the grandparents. she has tonight's big story. 29 year old rebecca montoya is behind bars in a san miguel county jail. her parents say-- montoya's two daughters 2 year old mary and 9 month old grace are with their father-- state police officer thomas lucero. he has custody. montoya's parents say she had good reason to leave. "my daughter got very worried about sending the babies back to officer lucero.." in april -- lucero came to kob asking for help finding his daughters. it turns out, montoya was in portugal. "i was able to fly over there and convince her that she had a good case she had too much evidence against lucero for her to be running away. he says june 20th she was detained at a tennessee airport-- and little mary and grace turned over to lucero. "." the montoya's say their daughter left because she was afraid for her girls and herself. "he has always used his police badge to scare us. to do what ever he wants." now they have no contact with their granddaughters and don't know where to turn.
