July 30, 2011
the first-ever medical marijuana expo is this weekend. we wanted to know what this is all about ... cristina rodda went to the expo, and joins us live from the convention center with a look... cristina? hundreds came out here today and the event runs through sunday. we found people eager to learn more about medical marijuana for many different reasons. "we got everything from freezable pieces, ash catchers, zongs, rulers, vortex xavier cabrera came out to sell bongs. "it relieves physical and mental pain for sure." bongs are big business. "this one we are selling for 64 and this one for 50." garrett shields just opened up shop three months ago... he's already looking into selling medical marijuana. "indeed, eventually at some point i would love to incorporate it into our business people wanting to see if they qualify for medical conditions stood in line to get more information. that's what the organizers were hoping for-- more awareness of how the program works in new mexico. for those people who are using marijuana illegally, i do believe there's a good majority in the state of new mexico-- probably from the lack of awareness." christopher hsu believes he suffers from post traumatic stress disorder-- but he has not been diagnosed. but he's looking to get a cannibus card. "everybody has a right to deserve what fits their body the best." we contacted albuquerque police -- they say they have no problem with the medical marijuana convention.
