oted to remove commisioner jerome block junior as vice chair. the p-r-c voted theresa becenti-aguilar as the new vice chair. block is under investigation after we uncovered questionable charges on his state issued gas card.... that included thousands of dollars worth of charges. minute thumbnail 12:01 pm meanwhile... we're still waiting to hear back ... after filing a motion to unseal search warrants in the investigation. the search warrants show what the attorney general's office found when they searched block's state issued s-u-v last thursday. 16:02 the courts have pretty specific rules that public access is really important, and before they seal the case they need to establish that there's a really good reason for doing that, they need to make it narrow so that only the things that really need to be secret are kept secret 16:18 a spokesman for the a-g's office says the warrants were sealed to -- quote -- protect the investigation. block was a no-show again at today's p-r-c- meeting ... and staffers tell us he hasn't been to work since we broke the story... leading to calls for his resignation. after our initial investigation into the gas card charges, we uncovered block was driving a state vehicle with a suspended license. we also found out he was accused of taking a car for a test drive, and never returning it to the dealer.
