Overseas, the Asian markets closed higher, while the European markets are all to the upside. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi filed yesterday a complaint on behalf of the State of Florida alleging that Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE:BK) overcharged the state retirement fund by millions of dollars for foreign currency exchanges in violation of the Florida False Claims Act. Bondi said that BNY Mellon serves in a fiduciary role as master custodian of the Florida retirement System Trust Fund and is involved in a majority of transactions regarding the fund. Wyndham Worldwide (NYSE:WYN) announced that its board of directors increased the company's share repurchase authorization by $500M. Midas (NYSE:MDS) announced that its board will explore and evaluate a range of strategic and financial alternatives to enhance value for stockholders. The company has retained J.P. Morgan Securities LLC to assist in this process.
