school is back in session for new mexico's largest school district. a-p-s kids a in the classroom today -- and for teens at rio grande high school -- the school year is already off to a much different start than last year. we sent sharon erickson out to see if there were any problems to start off the school year. 90-thousand students are back in the classroom today as 142 a-p-s schools open their doors for another year. minute thumbnail 12:32 pm "i'm looking forward to this year. pretty good opportunities. i'm looking to have fun, looking to learn. i'm ready to go." extra deputies were on-hand to direct traffic near school zones... and we didn't see any speeders... just some congestion- which officers say is normal for the first day of school. we visited rigrande high school this morning-- where after last year's scheduling conflicts ... some students are still worried about their classes. "i didn't get one class that i got accepted to and i guess it's not on my schedule, so i've got to go get that fixed." "my schedule is completely wrong, so i've gotta go fix it this morning." while others say they are happy with their new schedules. "i got all the classes i wanted! so did i. no, i requested it last year and they gave it to me last week." and ev though it was hard to roll out of bed before the sun was up... many of the teens say they're excited for the school year to finally begin. minute thumbnail 12:33 pm "probably the new principal. i want tsee what she can do."
