Floods devastate southern China
July 09, 2007
Torrential rains which have battered large areas of southern China during the past week are set to worsen, forecasters warn. Nearly 100 people have been killed and dozens are reported missing after floods and landslides devastated large swathes of China. The army has been helping to evacuate millions of people in the affected region, where several cities are reported to be partially submerged. More rainstorms are forecast in the next 48-hours, promising to bring further misery.
