sheriff's request for a-p-s police... the aps board is asking for more time to decide on the fate of its police department. it has until next week to say whether or not officers will continue to be commissioned by the sheriff's department. marissa torres is live at aps headquarters with more marissa.. antoinette- if the board doesn't sign off- the sheriff has the power to revoke his comission of aps police. but superintendent winston brooks say the board just isn't ready to make a decision. they would like all of the departments to sit down for another meeting. that includes albuquerque police and the bernalillo county sheriff's department. the issue remains the same. sheriff houston wants aps police to go through the same trianing as his deputies. he says aps officers act on his behalf when they investigate crimes and therefore require the same training. "if the extension isn't gratned the we'll go to plan b.
