Vigil Friday for student murdered at school

we're learning more this morning about a deadly stabbing at an albuquerque school. minute thumbnail 05:01 am 17-year-old jose de la paz was stabbed in the chest at cesachavez community school yesterday afternoon. police say they know who did it.. and have him behind bars. heather mills is live at cesar chavez community school with more. 17-year old cecilio lopez is charged in the murder .. he's also a student here at cesar chavez community school. we're told just before three.. the two teens started fighting inside the school -- ended up outside in the parking lot -- and that's where de la paz was stabbed twice in the chest. we were out here just after it happened and students told us they thought the fight was racially motivated minute thumbnail 05:02 am .. but police haven't confirmed that to us. apd also said lopez's father was in the area at the time of the stabbing.. he could be facing charges. last night we reported parents should call the school this morning to check on classes. i've tried contacting the school ... so far.. i havent' been able to get a hold of anyone. reporting live near gibson and san mateo, im heather mills for kob eyewitness news four. a candlelight vigil is planned for this evening to remember de la paz. the new mexico alition for student justice will hold the vigil tonight at cesar chavez charter school. people will gather at 5-30 in front of the school. the vigil begins at 6.
