mexico-mexico border plan to put pressure on governor martinez today. the hot button issue of driver's licenses for illegal immigrants is the topic. heather mills is live in the newsroom with what this group of people is planning to do today. the border network for human rights is asking new mexico lawmakers to keep the current drivers license law for illegal immigrants. minute thumbnail 06:01 am today - residents from southern new mexico.. along with the group.. are heading to the roundhouse for a day of action. the group says taking away driver's licenses for undocumented immigrants would compromise communities. governor martinez is asking for an all-out ban. she says the current bill encourages fraud... and a recent study by the associated press seems to support her theory. a-p found the addresses of dozens of new mexico homes and businesses were used over and over for people trying to get new mexico licenses. in one case -- 48 foreign nationals claimed to live at an albuquerque smoke shop the ban already passed a house panel.. but representatives for both parties say it probably isn't going anywhere - just like last year. in the newsroom, heather mills, kob eyewitness news four.
