Target Plays 'Grab That Dough' with the Gays, While Still Denying Actual Support

IN THE EVER BLOOMING WAKE OF THE CHIK-FIL-A ANTI-GAY CONTROVERSY, BIG BOX BEHEMOUTH TARGET HAS APPARENTLY DECIDED THAT--HEY, A BUCK IS A BUCK, AND OPENED UP THEIR WEDDING REGISTRY SERVICES TO SAME-SEX COUPLES, AS ADVERTISED BY THIS IMAGE ON THEIR WEBSITE. HOWEVER, IN SPITE OF THIS SEEMINGLY GRACIOUS GESTURE, TARGET REPRESENTITIVES ARE INSISTING THAT THE COMPANY IS NOT TAKING A STAND ON THE MARRIAGE EQUALITY ISSUE EITHER WAY--CLAIMING THE NEW POLICY JUST HELPS THEM QUOTE "REACH ALL GUESTS AND REPRESENT THE DIVERSITY OF COMMUNITIES WE SERVE." SO, IN OTHER WORDS. AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE, ISN'T IT. LOOK, IT'S NICE WHEN A MAJOR CORPORATION GROWS A PAIR AND DECIDES NOT TO CATER TO BIGOTS. JC PENNY DID IT WITH THEIR FATHER'S DAY AD, OREO MADE THAT SILLY PRIDE COOKIE, AND PROGRESSIVE, POSITIVE IMAGES ARE NEVER A BAD THING. BUT THEY ARE, AFTER ALL, ADS. THESE COMPANIES AIN'T DOING NOBODY NO FAVORS. THEY'RE JUST SNIFFING AFTER THE HOLY GRAIL OF DISPOSABLE INCOMES--SECONDED ONLY BY TEENAGE GIRLS. THAT DOESN'T MAKE THEM NICE. IT JUST MAKES THEM SMART. AND MAKES CHIK-FIL-A LOOK PRETTY STUPID.
